My life with clay started upon my retirement from the corporate
world in 2001.

My affinity for the sea and the natural world are the inspiration for
the many blues, greens and natural tones of the glazes I create.  
Design ideas have been inspired by the many trips I have taken
overseas visiting historical areas of different cultures as well as my
background in textiles. The art pieces achieve their texture through
the use of several applications of glazes, stamping, incising and
sprigging.  The pieces are fired to Cone 6 in an electric kiln using a
slow cool down.  All of the functional ware is food safe,
microwave and dishwasher safe.

What intrigues me about the craft is that I am a designer, a
craftsperson, a business manager, a chemist and a retailer.  I have
fallen in love with all aspects of the process, the throwing,
trimming, hand building, firing and decorating and I love what I do
everyday.
